Craft Class Week 7....

Last night was the last crafting night for our class. We do have one more class left, but it will be a show and tell. I have asked everyone to bring in something they have made outside our class, and show us how they made it. We'll also have a little Christmas party celebration that night. It'll be so much fun!
Okay, so here is a picture of last nights craft....

It's a table riser. I love them. I have another one in a mustard color.
They are perfect to use on your table, countertop, hoosier, bakers table, endless....
One of my students is using hers as a lasagna board. I love it!
This is what the bottom looks like. I just used some wood laths, doubled them and screwed them to the bottom. Simple!
I think the best part of the night was when everyone was distressing their boards. They really got into it. Some used a hammer, while others used the desk or even a paper clip.
This picture shows the edge of my board. I used a meat cleaver too get this look, and I really love how it turned out.
Well....this is the last of the crafts. I hope you enjoyed all the great things we made, and maybe you could even try making a few of them yourself. Any one of them would make a great gift for that prim person in your life.....even yourself!

  1. Hi Julie...I thought I left a comment but maybe I deleted it instead. It seems to be crazy around here. Finally thee kitchen is nearing the end,,,,,just needs to be painted and that may have to wait until January. Anyways, it is hard to believe your classes are over. Darn...I enjoyed seeing what you were making. Have you got your Christmas decorating done yet? I have a few things out but not decorated like we normally do. Have a great weekend. Do something fun.

  2. You must be so glad to be free of construction now. I love having stuff done, but I don't like the mess that goes along with it. I hope you send pictures to

I still can't believe my classes are over. Seems like we just started. The girls want me to do a spring class, but I am hoping the house will get started. Not sure if it will, though.

I have some Christmas decorating done, but not a lot. We won't put a tree up for another week or so, because of our sons new puppy. Well, almost new...he's 5 months. He likes to chew on things, and I'm afraid the tree or the gifts under it might become his new chew toys.
Just one more reason we need the new house.

Tomorrow my husband and I, along with our youngest son and his girlfriend are going to a hockey game, so that will be fun. I'll take pictures.

    Blessings to you!

I love hearing from you, so please leave me a message. I'll be sure to respond!
