Craft Class ~ Week 2......

Remember when I said I would remember to bring my camera to class this week? Well, I forgot....again!

Don't worry, though! I do have pictures of what we did last night.

I took these pictures this morning, and in case you couldn't guess, the BELIEVE blocks were this weeks project. This is exactly how I had them set up for my class last night.  I like to show ways you can display what we make, and as you can see they really do make a nice centerpiece for your holiday table.

Other ways to display them....

I have also used them as part of my Christmas display on my mantle, but I can't find any pictures of it. Sorry!

A couple more close ups...

These blocks were made from a scrap 2x4 and are so easy to do. I did use a stencil for the letters, but you can always free hand them if you like. I have terrible writing, so a stencil is definitely the way to go for me!

You can write anything you want on these blocks, make them large or small. So many possibilities!

More next week....

Blessings,
Julie

  1. Darn...I wish I could come to those meetings!!!!!I am sure there are lots of laughs and fun! I love the blocks with BELIEVE. The white and red are perfect. Is that a coffee can with "mistletoe" written on it. Did you make that, Julie? You are very talented. Can't wait to see more.

    Have a happy day!

    1. Thank you! We do have lots of fun. I have some great ladies in my class. They love the anticipation of what each new week brings. Now I just need to work on next weeks project....
I bought the stacked tins a couple years ago at a salvage store, but they can easily be made using coffee cans, paper mache boxes or even old cookie tins.

  2. You know, Julie, for as long as we have lived here....I have only been to a salvage store once when I was a little girl (with my Grandpa). I have looked in the yellow pages in the phone book for one and can never find one. You are so clever. A salvage store would be right up your alley. Have fun the next time you go.

    1. Thank you. I don't go often, as I tend to be a very visually organized person and the chaos of these stores doesn't play well with that. I do love the rare finds, though.
