Good morning everyone!
It sure is a cold day here in Maine. Is it cold where you live?
I think if we had a bit more snow on the ground it would insulate us better and not be so cold.

As you can see in the pictures above, Hollie seems to be adjusting to her new home. We were worried for a while, but she's doing well. She still has times where she stares up at the old farmhouse like she's missing home, though.

My sweet husband cooked us a big breakfast on Sunday morning. Did I mention to you before what a great cook he is? I think he missed his calling.

Well Thanksgiving is coming right up and there is so much to do. We are hosting my family for dinner. A new tradition we started after my dad passed away last year. There will be around 18 of us, I think.
I really enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday. A time for giving thanks for all of our blessings...and we do have so many don't we.

I love that it's the one holiday that we have that's not so commercialized and blown up. Just a simple time of year where family and friends gather and thank the good Lord above for all we have and have been blessed to know.

Wherever you are in the world, I do hope that you and yours are safe, healthy and are celebrating this wonderful holiday with family and friends.

Do you have any special traditions? Memories? I'd love to hear all about them.

Happy Thanksgiving friends!

Blessings,
Julie

  2. Thank you! Have you had much snow? I thought I heard the weather was supposed to get a bit warmer later this week. Calling for rain, I believe. Strange weather pattern, but I guess that's something you find anywhere you live.

    Stay warm!

  4. Thank you. She certainly has become a spoiled little girl, that's for sure. What was your boxer's name? Someone once told me that boxers are the clowns of the dog world. I have found that to be quite a true statement...with Hollie anyway.
I hope you had a very blessed Thanksgiving!

    1. His name was Baron,we had him 5 years,he was very reserved,he was my favorite of all the dogs we had.He got cancer and we had to have him put down.We were told that boxers get cancer quit often. So the next dog we got Deacon was half boxer and half rottie, thinking the half breed this would not happen to.We had him 6 years and he got cancer. The dog we have now is sheltie and boarder collie mix.I buy very good dog food for her making sure there are no preservatives or additives hoping this will add to her life.Dogs are such a big part of the family its like losing a family member when they go.

    2. I love the names! I am so sorry for your loss, though. Before Hollie we had Emmie. She was a Shar pei. She passed away from cancer a month before her 6th birthday. I cried for 3 days straight. It was a loss I never wanted to bear again, so we almost didn't get Hollie. I don't think we'll have another after Hollie, though.

      Stay warm!

Good morning folks! It's another cool rainy day, here in Northern Maine. Our long winter has turned into a long, cold spring. Let's...
