Early on Friday morning our son Thomas called us with the news that Danielle was in labor and had been up since 3 am. Thomas went to work so I drove to their home and stayed with Danielle for the day. Her contractions were 10 min. apart.
Knowing this may take a while I took her to a few stores to walk around and she had a few errands to run as well, since she knew this would probably be the last day before going into the hospital.
Her back was pretty sore, so I didn’t keep her out long.
By the time Thomas got home from work, her contractions were 6 min. apart and lasting about 1 min. Joe and I ate supper with them and stayed until 7:30 pm.
At about 12:30 am we got the call that they were going to the hospital. Joe and I headed up an hour later, in order to give them time to get settled in. When we arrived Thomas met us at the door with the biggest smile on his face and told us, “We’re having a baby!”
Remember what it was like when you had your first baby? Joe and I couldn’t believe that now our baby was having his first baby!!
Time to get ready!
Danielle decided to have a tub birth. Have you ever seen one of these? It was my first time.
Thomas and the nurse.
The midwife.
The baby catcher.
Our son was by Danielle's side the whole time and so supportive. We are so proud of the man he has become.
Her labor was long and hard, but by 9 am Saturday morning we had a precious new granddaughter!
Welcome to the world Miss Rylee Jordan Tweedie!
7 lbs. 1 oz. and 21” long.
Daddy cutting the cord.
A precious first moment with the new girl in his life. The joy that brought him to tears.
First kiss.
First family photo.
She is so precious!
A very proud grampy!
She stole Uncle Andrew’s heart, too!
I love her tiny feet….
…and her little lips!
What an angel.
I am so in love!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. It actually brought a tear to my eye looking at those pictures. It brought back memories of when my Aiva was born just 11 months ago. I can't think of anything better in the world than bringing home that precious little bundle! :)
