We had our monthly keeper’s meeting last night. It was a lot of fun, but I did forget to take some pictures. These are a few, but I confess…some were posed. I even set my camera in the middle of the table thinking that would help remind me. I guess we were having so much fun, I didn’t even think about it.
We gathered together and formed two groups; Janice took one group in the kitchen, while I took the other in the dining room. Then we switched out.
My group made pillowcases. We had so much fun! I can’t wait to see how many of the ladies go home and create some of their own. They are so easy to make. Four lucky ladies got to take a pillowcase home. CONGRATULATIONS to Denise, Madeline, Robin and Sheila!
Janice’s group made homemade butter and ricotta cheese. YUM! Everyone took a sample home to try. Janice is so smart! Who knew making your own butter and cheese was so easy?
We are all enjoying our keeper’s meetinsg so much. It’s fun to learn something new, and even more fun to share it with friends!
Are you learning something new? I have heard it’s really good for your brain. I know that mine can use all the help it can get. LOL!
Leave me a comment and let me know what new things you are learning. I love hearing from you!
Blessings,
Julie
Sounds wonderful.. You need to add the recipes, though. smile..
ReplyDeleteI bet the pillowcases were lovely, too.. xo
Sorry Faye. I thought about that, too. I'm glad Janice took care of you, though. I wish that I had been able to sit in with Janices group, as I'm sure she wished she had been able to sit in with mine. We all had a great time though, and learned a lot.

Faye its so easy Butter- Put heavy cream in a jar let it set out over night, then shake until it seperates you'll have a firm chunk of butter drain it off and rinse well.
ReplyDeleteThe cheese is a little harder. I ordered from New England cheesemaking Co. a small kit that makes 30 batches of Ricotta, and mozzeralla. We really had a good time but I think the best part is simple it's just the time we get to spend together.
Janice
I agree...our time spent together is priceless. Thank you, Janice!

Is your keepers group something friends came up with or is it part of a bigger organization? Sounds like fun! I just happened upon you today and now I'll have to add you to my regular reading list! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to our little red saltbox, Karen Sue! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI actually got the keepers idea from a friend who has a church group by the same name. Our group is not church based, but instead just focuses on getting back to the basics of simple living. We meet once a month and enjoy learning everything from sewing to gardening. I have a good friend that does it with me, so we can do two groups at once and then switch out. We all wear aprons and have lots of fun doing good old fashioned home stuff...the stuff our grandparents did everyday. Our next meeting is on the 11th, so I will be posting about it on the 12th.
Hope you come back again!
Blessings,
Julie
