The sheetrock is almost completed. They’ll be priming the walls in the next day or two, and then I’ll be painting.
I never thought I’d say this about painting, but I really can’t wait!
I’m going to back up a few days to catch you up on what’s been happening at our little red saltbox.
My sweet baby brother has been working at getting our garage door up for us.
He did most of this in the dark, by way of a dimly lit flashlight. The electricity is not hooked up in the garage yet.
Thank you Christopher!!
While he was busy putting the door up, my sister in law, Stephanie and I kept the kids busy.
I paid them a penny a nail for all the nails they collected from the grounds around the building site. Steph and I helped encourage them along the way, but I have to say…we didn’t have to do much encouraging, because they worked their little hearts out finding all the nails.
Here’s a picture of John-boy and Maddie counting their loot.
Macey was still searching for more nails. She was pretty determined to find them all.
They each earned $3!
Okay, back to the house….
Our son, Andrew thought our new basement would be the perfect place to store his Congo Bongo arcade game.
Of course this was put down there while Joe and I weren’t at home. LOL!
This is our basement.
We've never had one before, so this is great!
The room in the back is going to be our root cellar. We’ve always wanted one. YAY!
Now lets head up the stairs to the main part of the house.
Here are a few pictures I took this morning.
Sears delivered our appliances this past weekend.
I just want to be living here already!
Good things come to those who wait, though!
So in the mean time…..
….we’ll just continue to pack.
Blessings,
Julie
